Your Essential Role: Key Responsibilities at Hanover Iron Works
As a Class A CDL Truck Driver for Hanover Iron Works, your primary duty is the safe and professional transport of structural steel. Your daily tasks will be critical to our promise of reliability.
Daily Operations and Route Management

Operate a Tractor Trailer with a Flatbed Trailer (45′, 48′, 53′, or Stretch) or straight truck.

Meticulously secure all loads using chains, binders, and straps to guarantee stability.

Physically load and unload materials using manual lifting, forklifts, or overhead cranes.

Coordinate with shipping and receiving departments to schedule daily deliveries and pickups.

Plan efficient routes and delivery schedules to meet strict deadlines.
Safety and Compliance for Hanover Iron Works Drivers

Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.

Maintain accurate Driver’s Logs, Safety Reports, and all DOT-mandated documentation.

Adhere strictly to all DOT regulations and company safety policies at all times.

Report any mechanical issues, defects, or violations immediately.
Vehicle Stewardship and Team Collaboration

Perform minor preventive maintenance and ensure trucks and trailers are refueled and clean.

Maintain professional and clear communication with dispatchers, customers, and team members.

Assist with non-driving tasks within the facility when not on a delivery route.

Qualifications for the Driver Position

Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record and clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).

Minimum of 5 years of commercial truck driving experience is preferred.

Must be 21 years of age or older.

Demonstrated expertise in DOT safety procedures and load securement.

Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.

Ability to work overtime and occasional Saturdays.

Must pass a pre-employment DOT physical and DOT drug/alcohol test.
Experience that Gives You an Edge
