As the Operations Manager for our prestigious Reserve and Roastery locations, you will lead a team of partners in delivering an unforgettable Starbucks experience. Your primary mission is to drive business performance, ensure operational excellence, and cultivate a culture of belonging and craft that defines the Starbucks Reserve brand.

Core Responsibilities and Daily Tasks

 

Leadership & Team Management

 

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of hourly partners to deliver world-class customer service.

  • Model Starbucks‘ guiding principles, managing with integrity, honesty, and knowledge.

  • Delegate responsibilities, set clear expectations, and ensure smooth operational flow within your assigned zone or store.

  • Identify and communicate key business drivers and trends to your team to maximize sales and achieve financial targets.

Strategic Planning & Execution

 

  • Develop and execute strategic plans to increase sales while controlling operational costs, including labor and inventory management.

  • Collaborate with peer managers and market leaders to implement initiatives that support overall store and business unit objectives.

  • Utilize operational tools and financial reports to forecast needs, identify opportunities for improvement, and drive profitability.

Business Operations & Compliance

 

  • Manage all aspects of retail business fundamentals, including inventory, waste, and promotional tactics.

  • Ensure strict adherence to all state and federal laws, including wage and hour regulations and alcohol service policies.

  • Maintain a safe, secure, and compliant environment for partners and customers, following all food safety and operational standards.

Partner Development & Culture

 

  • Actively manage partner performance through assessments, feedback, and challenging goal setting.

  • Recruit, train, and schedule partners in accordance with zone needs and local labor laws.

Ideal Candidate Profile

 

We are seeking a passionate leader with:

  • 5-7 years of progressive retail experience OR 2+ years in a managerial role within a complex, high-volume environment.

  • Proven experience in financial management with P&L responsibility.

  • A demonstrated ability to recruit, develop, and inspire a team.

  • Strong operational problem-solving skills and effective decision-making capabilities.

  • Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • College degree in a related field.

  • Leadership experience in high-volume, full-service restaurant or complex retail hospitality.

  • Experience with lifestyle-based experiential brands.
