Your Role as a Financial Aid Planner

Core Responsibilities and Main Tasks

 

As a Financial Aid Planner at American Career College, you will serve as a vital resource for our students. Your primary focus will be to provide clear, accurate information and support throughout their financial aid journey.

Your main tasks will include:

  • Conducting in-depth, one-on-one meetings with students and prospective students to explain costs, available financial aid options, and loan counseling.

  • Assisting students and parents with completing essential forms, including the FAFSA, Master Promissory Notes (MPNs), and online loan counseling sessions.

  • Meticulously reviewing student documentation, ISIR data, and financial aid applications for accuracy and completeness.

  • Resolving any discrepant or conflicting information in student records to ensure full compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations.

  • Updating and maintaining precise electronic student records, ensuring all documentation is properly scanned and filed.

Required Experience and Skills

 

  • A minimum of 1 year of customer service experience in a professional environment.

  • Unwavering integrity and a commitment to the highest professional ethics.

  • A professional, helpful, and positive demeanor with a strong customer-service orientation.

  • Must not be in default on a federal student loan or owe repayment on a federal grant.

  • Consent to audio and video recording of student appointments for quality assurance.

Educational Background

 

  • An Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.
